Hi guys,

Who do you think this person is, in Ez.38:1-6 and 39:1-6, God refers to as the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal? And when do you think this prophecy will take place?

Blessings,

Quasar

Very interesting question. :smart:

I've heard several people say that Ezekiel 38 is getting ready to come to pass, due to the alliances between Shite Muslims (not Sunni Muslims) in Lebannon, Iran and in Chetchnia. Chetchnia is in the southern part of the former Soviet Union and it is primarily Shite. The Shites believe that their version of the Messiah will not return to earth until an apocalyptic global event happens -- and they are reportedly willing to usher in that event. In fact, today (8/22/06) is a watched date because it is important to the Shites because it only comes around once every 450 years. Today (?) could be an eventful day.

At any rate, Chetchnia is where Russia developed all their biological weapons -- and once the former Soviet Union dissolved, that technology fell into the hands of the Shite Muslims because it is in their territory.

To get back to your original question: Who are those names in Ezekiel 38....

The O.T. prophets used the names of the patriarchs after the great flood so that future generations could know who they are referring to. The prophets didn't use the names of nation-states (at least in this case) because those names continue to change throughout the centuries, but the names of families do not change i.e. Shem, Ham, etc. We can trace the lineage of the names in Ezekiel 38 all the way back to Noah's family and, today, we know where they settled. If you go to those regions and do a geniological analysis of their family trees, their names can be traced all the way back to the flood. That is simply a way of verifying the veracity of the prophetic scriptures!!!!

Your mention of the Shiite 'version of their Messiah,' Me Again, I assume you mean Muhammed? As it most certainly won't be Jesus they are referring to.

There are a number of expositors who believe the prophecy in EZ. about Gog and Magog will take place just prior to the start of the tribulation.

Your mention of the Shiite 'version of their Messiah,' Me Again, I assume you mean Muhammed? As it most certainly won't be Jesus they are referring to.No, the Shite Moslems aren't referring to Jesus because they do not believe that He is God in the flesh e.g. they only believe that He was a good prophet. The Shites believe that their messiah was "hidden away" in the late 600s and he will not be revealed until an apocolyptic even occurs that forces him to "take over the world." They believe that he has been alive since the 600s. The Sunni Muslims do not believe this.

Currently, the Sunni Muslims have been fighting the West and the Shite Muslims have not. The Shite Muslims have classified the United States as "the great satan" and they have classified Israel as "the little satan." During our intelligence briefing, we were told that if the Shite Muslims begin actively fighting against the United States, then it will be even worse than what the Sunni Muslims are doing because radical Shite Muslims are "like religious fanatics on steroids."
