My son was born on this Sunday morning at 03:45!!! He weighs 7 lbs. 4.6 oz and is 20 inches long.
I've been up for over 26 hours and will hope to get some sleep. It went well. They had to cut her, (not a c section), because the cord was around Jacks head. This way, with the help of some suction thingy, she was able to deliver after 30 minutes of pushing. However, her water broke around 4pm Saturday and was in contractions for quite a while.
My wife is the bravest woman alive! Wow, what a trooper. She never complained or got mouthy, even in pain she was so humble and kind. I have an increased respect for her.
I am both excited and awed at the experience. I'll give more details later. I'm so thankful to the Lord for this blessing of both a wonderful wife and to be a father!!! :cheer: :bday: :doodle: :good:

Congratulations, Kevin, proud father. You now must mold this life you have helped bring into the world. What was it like when you and your wife got to hold and cuddle your son for the first time? What was his reaction?

He was very active, yet he responded to me well.... and Gail too! When the nurse was checking his vitals his heart rate started as high, but I began talking to him, and the nurse said that I must have a soothing voice because he calmed down when I talked to him.
LL, You are so right about molding his life. I take this as my sacred duty as well as his mothers.

Fantastic. I will remember to be thanking the Lord for a successful birth. I know that you will be a great dad. Jack is one lucky little fellow.
Good luck and remember that when you are up all night - so am I, because it is day here then!!
God Bless,

Many blessings on this awesome occasion!
May the Lord bless this new addition to your family with power and His presence and peace throught his lifetime. May the Lord bless him with many spiritual gifts, and may he produce much fruit for his Lord. May the Lord fill him with the Spirit of the Lord from his birth, and may he flame with the fire of God his entire life.
Ps 127:3-5
3 Sons are a heritage from the LORD,
children a reward from him.
4 Like arrows in the hands of a warrior
are sons born in one's youth.
5 Blessed is the man
whose quiver is full of them.
They will not be put to shame
when they contend with their enemies in the gate.
Ex 40:15
15 Anoint them just as you anointed their father, so they may serve me as priests.
Many blessings
John O
Congratulations Kevin!:D :D
It is wonderful to see a child born to a Christian home. A home where he will receive much love and instruction in the ways of God. I am very happy for all of you.
God Bless!

Thank you everyone. You are so awesome!!!! He is not only an addition to my family but, by God's grace he will be part of our eternal family. I so testify before you all that I will raise him up with all my power, and much prayer and travail, to know the Lord.

Praise God for this good delivery of your first baby-boy.
As the Wall of Germany fell, I kept a small article and give here to you now....it is a translation of the German small newspaper article printed on Monday, November 13th, 1989.
GDR Baby Born on West Berlin Streets
Berlin (dpa/ap) -
Perhaps out of excitement about her first visit to West Berlin, a 24-year-old woman from Potsdam gave birth to a baby girl on the street.
The event took place at Württembergische Straße in West Berlin-Wilmersdorf at about 5pm on Saturday before the eyes of many witnesses.
Mother and child were brought to a hospital; both are well.

It seemed like just a few days ago we were asking you in the shoutbox what name you chose. I suggested Jared Jack but you said as nice of a sound it had your choice was Charley Jack. Okay... have it your way..:).... you're paying the bills.... :snicker:
Keep us posted as to his progress in development...

Remember Kevin, he's your son too! You get to play with him when you get home from work. Your wife has had him all day long, now it's your turn. If she wants to play with hinm and you too she can.

I love to hold him.... he's so beautiful. :)
What a precious gift.... Though I've got so much to learn about babies. I'm good with kids, but inexperienced with babies.
If any of you have any good tips or suggestions, please share them in the parenting section!

I have the same advice for young parents that was told to me in the Army Infantry/Rangers:
Eat when you can, rest when you can, sleep when you can.

Hi, Kevin,
It is so beautiful to read when husbands proclaim praise for their wife’s good qualities.
I love it!!
All spins around charlieboy, right? Life sure is different for you two now.
MSN has an absolutely wild story about mother instinct gone haywire.

The Scriptures talk of a proverbs 31 woman. I have such a wife. Therefore, I too rise up and call her blessed of the Lord and praise her!
Her value, indeed, is far above precious gems and gold. :)
