Hamas ready to liberate 'Palestine' in phases
By Jerusalem Newswire Editorial Staff
January 27, 2004

Jerusalem (jnewswire.com) - The Muslim Hamas terrorist organization this week indicated its readiness to go along with the PLO's plan to destroy Israel in phases by accepting first a sovereign Palestinian state in Judea, Samaria and the Gaza Strip.

Hamas co-founder Abdel Aziz Rantisi admitted to reporters Sunday his group had concluded it was too difficult to conquer all the Jewish state militarily at this time.

Hamas would instead offer to temporarily halt its terrorist campaign against Israel and accept a truncated Palestinian state until the Palestinians were strong enough to resume their war, Rantisi said.

Meanwhile, PLO chief Yasser Arafat has once again invited some of the Palestinian terrorist fugitives most wanted by Israel to take up refuge in his Ramallah headquarters.

Muslim Countries Becoming
Bolder in Persecuting Christians

Issue Date: September/October 2001

Islam's hostility to Christians is beginning to get some attention from the media. The Associated Press reports that a German Christian relief agency was raided in early August by police from the Afghan Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice. Nearly 100 were arrested including 2 American, 4 German and 2 Australian aid workers. They were charged with preaching Christianity in this Muslim nation.

Bibles, videos, and records with Christian radio frequencies were confiscated as evidence. Also arrested were 16 Afghan workers and 64 young boys whom the police said were being taught Christianity. Officials said the boys would be re-educated in Islam and released later.

The fate of the others was not yet clear. In January this year, the Afghan government warned that conversion to Christianity was punishable by death. Given the harsh and sometimes fatal treatment of Christians in other Islamic countries, there is grave concern, particularly for the Afghan workers. Hopefully the world will be watching.

A little investigating on the internet turns up reports of Muslim persecution of Christians from many other countries dominated by Islam. In Indonesia, reports date back into last year of Muslim "holy war fighters" aided in some cases by government troops using sophisticated weaponry on a campaign to eradicate Christians from whole regions of the country.

In March, a report came out of Pakistan that young Christian girls were being kidnapped and raped by Muslims. One girl was kidnapped after sharing Christ with a schoolmate. Her parents were told that she had converted to Islam and wished to leave her Christian home.

Local police refused to investigate her parents' complaint and her whereabouts was not known. Another Pakistani Christian faces death by hanging for blasphemy against "the sacred name of the Holy Prophet (Mohammed)."

A Turkish Christian was arrested in February and charged with insulting Islam and Mohammed. Proselytism is not illegal in Turkey, but their criminal laws prohibit "insulting the books, prophets, or values of another religion." This makes it all but impossible to obey the great commission, so any soul-winning activity could be construed as violating the law.

An obscure war is going on in the southern Philippines where Muslims are using terror to try and establish a separate Islamic state. Christians and Roman Catholics are frequently kidnapped and some have been beheaded.

In Africa, several countries have become dominated by Islam and anyone who does not convert comes under extreme persecution, displacement or death.

Few Americans are aware that Saudi Arabia, the home of Islam, is one of the most oppressive countries for Christians. There are no churches in the whole country. Foreign workers make up one-third of the population, many of whom are Christians.

For their entire stay, which may be years, they are forbidden to display any Christian symbols or Bibles, or even meet together publicly to worship and pray. Some have watched their personal Bibles put through a shredder when they entered the country.

In the past, foreign Christians caught practicing their faith have been deported. Recently there has been an increase of midnight raids with Christians dragged off to prison and computers, Bibles, books, tapes and family photos confiscated.

Much of this news is ignored by the rest of the world but Bible believers should be aware and pray for the fellow believers in the Muslim countries. Over one billion people are bound by this false religion. They need to be freed by the truth of the gospel.

We should study carefully the books that have been written on witnessing to Muslims. There are an estimated 5 million Muslims living in the U.S. Many have strong ties to their homelands. If we win one of them to Christ, we can influence family members both here and on the other side of the world.

Forgotten Christians of the East
By Theodore G. Karakostas
September 16, 2001 -- The Attacks on the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon in Washington are a reminder of the existence of evil in the world. It is very clear that Islamic extremism has made its way to America and Europe. In 1995, there were a series of bombings in France related to the civil war in Algeria between the military government and Fundamentalists.

Yet, for the past 1,400 years Eastern Christians have lived with, endured, and coped under Sharia (Islamic law). The first Islamic conquests took place during the last decade of the rule of Byzantine Emperor Heraclius (610-641).

Syria, Egypt, and Palestine were lost to Christianity. Christian leaders such as Patriarch Sophronius of Jerusalem made deals with Caliph Omar for the protection of his flock and of Christendom's Holy places.

Despite Islam's claim of tolerance, Greek Orthodox, Armenian, Coptic, and other Eastern Christians found themselves under terrible conditions. While not immediately forced to convert, Christians were forced to submit and to accept their new rulers as their masters. Economic pressures and discrimination contributed to the eventual conversion of millions of Christians to Islam.

The losses of Eastern Christianity continued following the invasions of Byzantium that were begun by the Seljuk Turks in August 1071. Steadily, Greek Christians were converted to Islam and adopted Turkish and Arabic as their languages. In 1453, Sultan Mehmed II achieved one of Islam's most notorious conquests when he conquered Constantinople and defeated the Christian Empire's last Emperor Constantine Paleologos.

Europe eventually made peace with the Sultan at the expense of Christian Greeks, Serbs, Rumanians, Bulgarians, Albanians, and Armenians. Christian boys were kidnapped and taken to the Janissaries for conversion to Islam and political indoctrination. Women were taken into harems, Churches were converted into Mosques and Christians were forced to acknowledge the superiority of their rulers. "Zakat" a special tax was imposed on Christians. Disputes between Christians and Muslims were heard in Islamic Courts.

At the dawn of the twentieth Century, there were still millions of Christians in the Turkish Ottoman Empire. In 1915, the Young Turks began a process of slaughtering one and a half million Armenian Christians. Furthermore, the Greeks of Pontus and Asia Minor were likewise targeted for extermination.

In 1919, the Greek Army liberated the ancient city of Smyrna. Smyrna is one of the seven Churches that St. John wrote to in the Book of Revelation, the last book of the Bible. The Greek and Armenian Christians who sought their right to self determination were denied not only by Turkish Muslims such as Mustafa Kemal and Noureddin Pasha, but by the western powers looking to protect their economic and geostratic interests at the expense of the Eastern Churches. In September 1922, the Metropolitan of Smyrna, Chrysostomos was butchered and thrown into the sea. French soldiers who witnessed this horror did not intervene.

In fact, the French, Italians, British, and Americans armed the Turks while denying the Greek army the means to effectively fight Kemal's forces. In 1923, Asia Minor was ethnically cleansed when over one million Greeks were expelled upon the orders of Mustapha Kemal. The region where the Seven Ecumenical Councils took place was cleansed of Christianity.

On September 6, 1955 the Turkish government (now secular but as fanatical and anti-Christian as is predecessors) sponsored a vicious pogrom against the Greeks of Constantinople. Most Greeks fled the former Christian Capital and there are only 2,500 left today. Over the past eight years, there have been four bombings of the Ecumenical Patriarchate by fundamentalist extremists. There is no coverage of this in western media just as the slaughter of Turkey's Christian populations is virtually unknown by most westerners.

Since 1984, over two million Christians in the Sudan have been killed in genocidal assaults by the country's Fundamentalist regime. There have been wide reports that black Christians are literally slaves who are purchased like property, owned, and then sold. Yet, the United States, Europe, NATO, and CNN have been rather quiet.

In Egypt, the ancient Coptic Church has been suffering for centuries. Christians are discriminated against, beaten, terrorized, and murdered while their Churches are desecrated and destroyed. When Fundamentalist's embarked on a terror campaign against western tourists a few years ago, these attacks were widely reported. The Copts were not mentioned. Armenian Christians have been fighting for their survival in Nagorno Karabakh against Azerbaijan since 1988. The Armenians were almost annihilated as a result of the Turkish Genocide, yet western companies are looking to placate Turkey by lobbying to prevent recognition by the United States of the Armenian genocide and are interested in Oil in areas like Azerbaijan which leads them to oppose the humanitarian interests of Armenia.

Most Palestinians want to destroy Israel and deep in their hearts they want to drive all Israeli Jews into the sea

There is no denying of the fact that some Palestinians think exactly like the Zionists (which is the Palestinian version of Zionism), and very possibly they do so because they were the victims of such treatment. Regardless of whether it is right or wrong, you have to agree that it is human nature to respond to terror with terror and to racism with racism, which are facts that all decent people must accept and deplore simultaneously. No matter what the circumstances are (such as the urge to seek vengeance, revenge, reprisals, ... etc.), targeting civilians to achieve political or military objectives, in either war or non-war situations, is terrorism. It is worth noting that the Palestinian people have been on the receiving end of Israeli terrorism, the chief of which are the collective DISPOSSESSION and ETHNIC CLEANSING of 8.5 million Palestinian for the past five decades.

Finally, the Palestinian mainstream does not and will not condone massive ethnic cleansing the way Israeli Zionists have done to the Palestinian people.

At present Hamas is being seen as a group in conflict with Yasser Arafat's Palestinian Authority which is viewed by most of our media as 'moderate' and in favour of peace with Israel. However Arafat's PLO are the grandfathers of all modern terrorist movements. At the time of the Gulf War he was giving his full support for Saddam Hussein and backing his campaign to destroy Israel. The real difference between Hamas and the PLO is one of strategy, not of aim. Both seek the ultimate destruction of Israel, Hamas immediately by terrorism and war, the PLO in stages by diplomacy first and then when Israel is weakened by terrorism and war. As we have pointed out in the past in this magazine the 'Phased Policy' of the PLO aims to take back any territory Israel withdraws from and use it as a springboard from which to attack Israel.

At a secret meeting after a dinner for 40 Arab diplomats in the Grand Hotel, Stockholm, Sweden, on 30th January 1996, Arafat made plain his aim of destroying Israel. His topic was the 'impending total collapse of Israel.' He stated that both Shimon Peres and Yossi Beilin are ready to support a Palestinian state as long as Jews are guaranteed some degree of religious freedom. He declared 'Peres and Beilin have already promised us half of Jerusalem. The Golan Heights have already been given away subject to a few details. After the return of the Golan Heights at least a million rich Jews will leave Israel for America. We of the PLO will now concentrate on splitting Israel psychologically into two camps. Within five years we will have six to seven million Arabs living on the West Bank and in Jerusalem. All Palestinian Arabs will be welcomed back by us. You understand that WE PLAN TO ELIMINATE THE STATE OF ISRAEL AND PLAN TO ESTABLISH A PURELY PALESTINIAN STATE. We will make life unbearable for Jews by psychological warfare and population explosion. Jews will not want to live among Arabs. I have no use for Jews. They are and remain Jews. We now need all help we can get from you for A UNITED PALESTINE UNDER TOTAL ARAB-MUSLIM DOMINATION.'

In his conclusion Hatina writes: "The Islamic Jihad... played a key role in molding radical Islam and establishing it as a legitimate form of struggle against Israel." The achievement of this movement was: "The conversion of Islam into theology of liberation..." explained the author. The outcome was to push the P.L.O. into a defensive posture. The P.L.O. must show a willingness to compromise but the radicals are also the 'rejectionists.' Their idea is to destroy Israel and then the power of the Western civilization in the Muslim world. It is an anti-democratic regressive-reactionary goal. It is the womb of the Muslim terrorism, a challenge to humanity.

Palestinians drop vow to destroy Israel
Historic vote boosts chances for peace
April 25, 1996
Web posted at: 10:15 a.m. EDT (1415 GMT)

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip (CNN) -- The Palestinian National Council has declared it no longer seeks the destruction of Israel through an armed struggle.

Members voted 504-54 with 14 abstentions Wednesday to eliminate all such references in the 1964 charter. The council also vowed to begin writing a new charter.

The vote was pushed through by Yasser Arafat, president of the Palestine Liberation Organization who cajoled delegates and scattered his opponents.

"This is not only a success for our democracy, it is a success for the peace process," Arafat said. "I am very happy that I fulfilled my commitment, and we hope that our partners, the Israelis, will do the same."

Hebron's fate
Arafat also hopes that revoking the charter provisions will pave the way for a partial Israeli troop withdrawal from Hebron, the last West Bank city still under occupation.

Troops were to be withdrawn in late March, but Israeli Prime Minister Shimon Peres held off after four suicide bombings by Palestinian militants that killed 63 people, including the assailants.

Israeli cabinet member Shulamit Aloni praised the vote, saying it acknowledged that Israel was "a land of two peoples." Israel had long objected to the charter clauses, and Peres threatened to suspend peace talks with the PLO unless Arafat succeeded in removing the provisions by May 7.

Arafat supporters say Israel must now respond quickly to the Palestinian concession.

"We will implement our side, hoping the Israelis will take the same step and implement all their commitments," said Council member Faisal Husseini.

Not all back change
The change in the charter is unpopular with many Palestinians, who are suffering economically from Israel's decision to seal its borders with Gaza and the West Bank for security reasons. Israel took the action after the suicide attacks in February and March.

Many see the charter vote as caving in to Israeli pressure.

"This will be an added factor, where people will feel an added loss of heart and loss of faith and loss of hope, and these things are dangerous," said Hanan Ashrawi, longtime PLO spokesperson and a Council member.

"I don't like to see people pushed into a corner, I don't like to see people reach a state of despair, because these are conducive to desperate acts."

Political prize

However, Arafat was determined to give a political boost to his peace-process partner, Peres. "And if it helps the peace forces in Israel, including Mr. Peres, there is no problem with that," said the Council's Suleiman Najab.

By pushing through changes to the Palestinian charter, Arafat has offered a political prize to Peres, one that both men hope will help Peres achieve victory in next month's Israeli elections.

Despite the historic importance of the vote, Israel still faces threat of attack from Muslim rebel groups -- such as Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad and Hamas -- which oppose the PLO position and deny Israel's right to exist.

Did you see the date of that article? Palestinians, arabs and muslims have broken these agreements many times. They still seek Israel's destruction.

Hamas: no place for Israel in Middle East

Arutz Sheva News Service, May 23, 2003.

"I'm telling you frankly, the attitude of Islam is not to accept a foreign state in this area." So said Hamas spokesman Mahmoud Zahar on Tuesday on BBC - yet he met last night with Abu Mazen to discuss conditions for a "ceasefire."
PA Prime Minister Abu Mazen met with leaders of the Hamas terrorist organization, who laid down some conditions for agreeing to a "year-long ceasefire" against Israel. These included Israel's release of all imprisoned Arab terrorists and its agreement to stop all counter-terrorism activities. By stipulating such conditions, Hamas was essentially understood to be rejecting all calls for a ceasefire.
The "fact" that Hamas was willing to discuss a ceasefire at all, however, can better be understood in light of the words of one of its top leaders, senior Hamas spokesman Mahmoud A-Zahar, just two days earlier. A-Zahar, one of the participants in last night's meeting with Abu Mazen, appeared on Tim Sebastian's BBC Hardtalk show on Tuesday. A partial and unofficial transcript:

Question: You [Hamas] say that if Israel withdraws, then the resistance will stop. [You say:] 'We are calling for just one condition: An end to the occupation and the Palestinian suffering.' Then you would renounce violence totally, is that what you're telling me - for now and forever?
Zahar: [no], without conditions. We are not the Palestinian Authority that we can give things without discussing them, without agreement...

Q. I'm asking you -
Z. Just one thing [we will give] - a ceasefire. A ceasefire is justified in our religion. Our attitude is that [Palestine] is not a political issue -

Q. Dr. Zahar, I asked you a very simple question: If Israel accepts your conditions - the elimination of the occupation - will you renounce violence, yes or no?
Z. We are going to ceasefire - only ceasefire.

Q. Yes or no to that condition? Yes, or no?
Z. I, I, I, I answered you. It's not the way to say yes or no. We are not going to --

Q. So how can Israel trust your assurances ever? You can't even give a straight answer to a straight question. How can they trust your answers?
Z. The question is - just a moment. If Israel withdraws from our land, and says that they will not re-attack and reoccupy our country - that's a big if - they are not going to do that, because they did that before: They occupied our country in '48, occupied our areas in '56, and in '67, and Lebanon in '82 - so the history.

Q. You know what you're telling me? That under no circumstances will you give up violence until you've pushed Israel into the sea. That's what you want, isn't it?
Z. Who is saying that?

Q. You're saying that.
Z. I'm telling you frankly, the attitude of Islam is not to accept a foreign state in this area.

Q. So until Israel ceases to exist, you won't lay down your arms. Is that right?
Z. First of all, we are a part of the independent Islamist - this is the attitude of thousands and millions of people.

Q. Why do you keep on with this attitude? You are seen by many people in the world as a bunch of ruthless killers, fanatics, terrorists. Are you happy with that picture?
Z. We're not happy - [but] these people are seeing Islam as an enemy, as a terrorist, but this is a historical mistake. Because Islam is a supreme power in this area, sooner or later we are going to achieve our power, our moral principles, our virtue, in order to implement a real state.

Note by Arutz-7:
The "ceasefire" Zahar says Islam permits is known as a "hudna" - a temporary cessation of hostilities until one side feels that it is strong enough to resume the fight. In light of the above Hamas position that "the attitude of Islam is not to accept a foreign state in this area," the Israeli Government in fact objects to a ceasefire on the part of the terrorist organizations, which it says will be used to strengthen themselves and prepare for a renewed attack against Israel. Israel demands, instead, that Abu Mazen totally disarm the terrorist groups and dismantle the terrorist infrastructure.

Still calling for Israel's destruction

WorldNetDaily, October 10, 2002

<http://www.islamreview.com/articles/lying.shtml>

Lying in Islam

However, unlike most religions, within Islam there are certain provisions under which lying is not simply tolerated, but actually encouraged. The book "The spirit of Islam," by the Muslim scholar, Afif A. Tabbarah was written to promote Islam. On page 247, Tabbarah stated: "Lying is not always bad, to be sure; there are times when telling a lie is more profitable and better for the general welfare, and for the settlement of conciliation among people, than telling the truth. To this effect, the Prophet says: 'He is not a false person who (through lies) settles conciliation among people, supports good or says what is good."
